Charge Rollup for specified revenue codes 360 and others
My rev integrity team has been digging into revenue opportunities that may be missed due to billing edits for our claims.
Our organization has had the practice for many years of rolling up charges under rev code 360 and others. For example, if multiple procedures are performed, the first line of the revenue code on the claim will contain the majority of the charges, the second line will be billed at $1.00 and the third line at $1.00.
We started this practice years ago, supposedly due to a specific payer, but I'm finding more compliance issues and missed revenue opportunity if we continue to do this.
Is anyone else out there in the practice of rolling charges under rev code 360 or are you only doing this in very specific billing scenarios?
