Facility Level Charge Capture for OB ED

Is anyone out there willing to share your experience with OB EDs? How do you calculate and drop facility level charges?

    We are just starting to look at this topic. We did develop an E/M mapping model that we will use if/when we move this direction. I am very interested in hearing about others' experience with this, especially when it comes to patient satisfaction and how reimbursement was impacted.

    We use the same calculator as ED. There are components of the calculator that include OBED services that would obviously apply for OBED, but not traditional ED. We had a consulting group suggest a separate calculator for OBED, but from what we understand, it would be difficult to implement within Epic.

    Our maternity departments created a document for the OBEDs in our system on what level to charge. We do not use the ASAP calculator for our OBEDs.
