Perfusion Services, Cell Saver

Hello,

Our surgery department currently uses an outside vendor to perform perfusion services with a cell saver machine when needed. I believe we can and should be capturing the charge on the hospital account (the vendor bills us for services, not the patient). Their services include perfusion time and 'stand by' time even if the machine is never used. What revenue code and CPT does one use for this charge? Thank you.

    We use Revenue Code 0360, with no additional CPT code. The CPT code(s) of the surgical procedure(s) are reported via "soft-coding" (not hard-coded in the chargemaster).

    Thank you! So to clarify, the cell saver charge is on a separate line from the procedure charge and/or surgery time but they all roll up to 360?
