Remote Radiology Interpretation Billing
My hospital is in the process of making decisions on whether we should outsource Radiology interpretation billing. In the past our contracted radiologists have been responsible for their own billing. We may take on this responsibility or outsource. My question is that we have 20 small hospitals in various states. The radiologists that will be responsible for the interpretations are remote in various states. We know that Mass Medicaid requires the radiologist be located in the state. I am not sure about this requirement in other states. I do know the Medicare requirements but we are pediatric and bill to third party and Medicaid. If anyone has any experience in this area would you please weigh in. Thanks.
