We considered it briefly, but decided to just keep it built in to the room & board charge. In addition to the complexity of coding, our IP nurses don't actively charge for any other services, just things like meds that come through with scanning. There's also charge edits from commercial payors on a regular basis that want various services to be included in R&B that we disagree with, and looking closer to some of their guidelines, they'd contest infusion too. Since it wouldn't be paid separately, it was deemed to be not worth the trouble.
